got ready to turn 100K on the odometer on my tr6 and the odometer stopped at 99999 and the reset odometer quit too, I can take it apart but any reason it would quit, I do have a spare spedo, hope it didnt strip any gears out

I suppose something could have jammed in there when the odo tried to roll over -- which could in turn have broken your cable. You might check to see if your disconected cable turns as you drive down the road.

Be careful -- if you're wearing shorts that sucker can get tangled in leg hair (yikes).

If you need parts, let me know. I think that I may still have some pieces left from the unit that I sent parts to Julian from.

Take pictures and post what you need. If I can help, I will.

Always looking for the next bit of trouble, I kept an eye on mine a couple of months ago when mine was about to roll over. Took my eyes off of it for whatever reason and the next time I looked it was 00003.

well got the spedo out and apart and really cannot see anything out of the ordinary so I turned the counter by hand and its back to working fine I guess trying to turn all those numbers at once was hard on the mechanism so she seems to be ok now, put a tad of oil in places and back in the car she goes and will see if its back to normal

You did OK. Mine seemed to have done that before I got the car. When I took it apart the gear was stripped. From what I could see the theory I have is the "grease" gets old and hard over the years and as you say turning all the numbers at once was too much for the little gear and she failed. Just look for that one missing tooth. Glad your problem was simpler to fix.
