TR2/3/3A Odd Speedometer Behavior

My girlfriend and I were out for a nice Saturday run when she commented that my speedometer wasn't working. I think she had been checking as I was taking some of the turns at some speed. We have different views on that.

It had been working fine (maybe a little jumpy) prior to that. Both the speedometer and the odometer were not working for a couple of hours. Then normal operation resumed.

Any thoughts on what might be going on and what I should check would be appreciated.

First thing that I would check is that both ends of the cable are tightly installed, one in the tranny and the one behind the speedo.

Cheers
Tush

I would also disconnect both ends and check the end of the inner cable for damage. If you find damage, likely the bearings inside the head are dry and bind when they get hot.
