At club this morning I was talking with a buddy of mine about my trailing arm bushings squeeking that the springs may be the culprit also. We look under each outhers cars to compare tire clearence and look whats under his car! I was expecting something simular to my BE but this little Turner is pretty neat Torsion bars! who would have thought.

Didn't the Healey Frogeyes have torsion spring suspension?

1/4 leafs on mine was kind of expecting the same thing since both our cars share so many of the same components engine steering front suspension gearbox knobs gauges.Pretty surprised to find this.rear end is the same but as you can see it has two torsion bars mounted to the rear bulkhead totaly adjustable rate. and a bar that mounts to the rear end on the left side that crosses to the righr and mounts to the body to keep the rear end from moving side to side.
its a very cool setup. Some thing else that was odd was a strange looking block on the rear brake line before the tee that adjusts the amount of rear brake pressure in relation to the front has a bolt affair on it + or minus front to rear brake bias? car was diffenitly made with racing in mind. Only question is why on earth would you mount the doors with latch at the door pillar and hidge at the rear? suicide doors.

Hehehehe...So you can "blow the doors off"?

Cool rear suspension differences though!

Gonna be tough to find replacements for that rear suspension in the MOSS Catalog.

We are going to put it up on the lift today and see if we can find the source of a noise from the right side rear end today.rolling speed / not bump related Bearing? hope its something simple .
if i remember I'll get a overall picture showing the odd little fitting on the brake line. And as far as getting parts/ yea rear end no problem, suspension I'm sure its unobtanium. With only 67 of these around i'm sure spares are what you fab I imagine those laminated bars would need to be some sort of spring steel.

Might use an old VW front torsion bar as a replacement. ISTR that the front bars were laminated like your picture. You may have to cut them down/modify or whatever, but it would at least be the correct type of steel for this use.

Nice car must be a later Turner with the ford plant in it early ones were sold with 948 stage 1 or coventry climax. Does his have coils or torsion bars in the rear.
We found the problem with the thump noise. it is a u joint at slow speed it sort of self centers its self but speedup then it moves off center and then it out of balance. Strange how things you can normally ID in a steel car are muffled and sound different when in a glass car. The more I see of this the little beast the more I like it.
