Looking for local source for rubber o-rings that go between TR3 tach and speedo and dash to save time in shipping. Does anyone have size handy as I'm not at home at moment to measure. Think they are 5 inch, but not sure in ID, OD, and thickness that would work. Cheers, Mike

here it is.

If I understand Mike's initial inquiry, he's looking for the big o-rings that go around the gauge case. The eBay link from Jerry is the bulk strip for installation between the chrome bezel and the glass... plus it's in the U.K., not local.

Mike, happened to have one laying around that I purchased from Moss. OD measures 4 3/4" when measured with a metal tape. It's 1/8 thick so that makes the ID 4 1/2". Hope this helps.

Did I read here that some have cut and glued-to-fit the extra O rings that come with the original-type oil filter cartridges?

I don't know which seals have been used in the past. However, you could buy any larger o-ring or even bulk o-ring cord, cut to length, and Krazy-Glue the ends together to make the dash sealing ring.

Thanks guys. I could not access the site for a couple of days. Found some o-rings locally and will give those a try on outside of gauge case. Cheers, Mike

Hi Mike,
A bit late, but did you try princess auto? Might be something that would work in their hydraulic section.

Cheers

Is there even any proof that the factory put O-rings there? There doesn't seem to be any need, as the back is totally open and the vinyl covering provides a bit of cushion for the instrument.

At any rate, none of my TR3 have had them, and I didn't particularly like the look of the black ring against the chrome and red vinyl. So I left them off.

O rings I got did not work very well. I decided not to bother with them. The vinyl does offer some protection. I do have a couple of old gauges and one had a perished ring on outside of case, but although it looks original I have no idea if it is. Cheers, Mike
