Talked to a local guy,who gave me a lead on a Morgan.
Not sure which year, but was told that it's a roller.Asking
price is $4,000.
I need to go look at it,but we're going to "Smog City"
this weekend.
Anyone have thoughts on Morgans?

Love the lines on Morgans, very neat cars. Hand built, not particularly cheap to restore. Factory's still building them, you can get parts, frames, new wood, etc.

I'd expect a $4000 Morgan to need many multiples of that amount to be finished.

Details, man, DETAILS!!!! Inquiring minds wanna know! 4/4? +4? <gasp> +8?

I used to restore Morgans and sell parts at the now (mostly) defunct Olde World Restorations.

Even a roller for $4000 would be a steal, especially if it has the running gear, weather equipment, windscreen, and gauges. (The hard bits to get) By comparison, there's a "partially restored" Morgan currently in Hemmings for $9900.

Running Morgans with good wood start at $15k, much more for +8's. Restored Morgans seem to be starting in the $30's these days (again, much more for +8's).

I tried to find the owner in the phone book -
not listed.I'll get over & check it out when I get back.
Funny, but I've come accross two other great deals
on Morgans in the past. Both were sold by the time I got
there.

This'n likely will be too, Doug.

Well, from the title of the thread, it must be Irish.

O'Malley, O'Malley, O'Malley! :jester:

Actually, I wuz thinkin' more along th' lines of Robin Williams' <span style="font-style: italic">Adrian Cronauer</span> portrayal.

And who can ever forget: "Oh, really?"

"No, O'Reilly."

You can have our O'Malley (Gov.) if you want him.

Trade you any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

He got back to me - it's not a Morgan,but a
Morris Minor convertible.I was told that he had some
Morgan parts to sell.
Isn't it fun dealing with third parties?
