Please say it's not so.... how can you replace the Stooges?
It's like a recreation of one of the Grand Masters paintings with a paint-by-numbers set

Moe said it best....
"C'mon! What's'a'matter with 'ya?... 'Ya nuts?!"
- Moe (THREE LITTLE BEERS, 1935)

It's been tried before... Often imitated, never duplicated. Just leave it be and enjoy what they left to us.

My sentiment as well.

It's $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, guys! They can try all they want, but there will never be another Larry, Curly or Moe! Originality, what ever happened to originality? It bugs me when the copy cats try to make a buck on someone else's reputation.

But they forgot Shemp!

(totally agree; they'll never re-create the originals)

Curly's Comments

Speaking of old stuff, Pepe, the movie, starring the Mexican actor "Cantinflas" was made in 1960 when my wife was 12 years old. She sang in her school choir (St. Charles in North Hollywood, CA) when the choir was picked to sing some of the background songs for Pepe. The Screen Actors Guild still sends her a residuals check to this day, averages about $8.00 per year. I married a movie star!

Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk indeed. Woohoo!

Even with a highly skilled cast of actors, the new Stooges movie will be akin to making your dog paint a Reubens: how in heck can anyone recreate Moe, Larry and Curly???

There's never been anyone like 'em, and there never will be, IMHO.

Sean Penn as Moe??? I like Penn, but he ain't no Moe! :nonono:

Recreating the Stooges?

Is it April 1st already!

Penn, and del Torro as stooges? Someone's got to be pulling our chains!

This has been floating around for ages-I doubt that it's going to happen any time soon.

FWIW, there was a biopic about the Stooges several years ago, featuring Paul Ben-Victor as Moe, Evan Handler as Larry, and Michael Chiklis as Curly. These guys actually bore a bit of a resemblance to the Stooges, and did a pretty decent portrayal.

TR6BILL,

JUST DON'T SPEND IT ALL IN ONE PLACE.

Yea, but that was different.. that was a "life's story" drama about the real people. it wasent trying to duplicate what they did just to try and squeeze some more money out of a classic.
that was a good movie BTW.
The stooges were the stooges. they came at the right time, they were the creators of what they did (at least what they took from vaudville) Anything now is just a knockoff. It's like kit Cobras. Yes, they're awesome cars, maybe some even redesigned better than the originals, but they're still just a copy of someone elses well loved idea. they will never hold the status of the original.

OK , Carrey I get. The other 2???? :confuse:
