Hi all! Hope your Christmas season is bringing you all the good things you (so richly) deserve.

I miss my Spridget friends (even Ed Perez!).

Is anyone up for a NODoody (Northwest Organization of Spridget Handymen In Transit) on Saturday February 12, at the Jones house in North Seattle? Up to four garage spots are available, in the unlikely event of inclement weather.
There will be cars (with problems and without), beer, and food. Plenty of tools (I even found the clutch alignment tool that Ed needed!), including hoist, etc. No compressor, though!

Hope to see you guys. Ed P, please feel free to pop on over - it wouldn't be a NODoody without you! Maybe you won't have to tow your car away this time.

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

Rats! Language filter . . . at least it didn't work on the header!

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

Oh Boy!!!

My Frank really needs his 5 speed installed before the big road trip in July.
Actually the 4 speed is starting to growl and complain, so I will have to baby it until Feb 12.

Thanks Phil, that will be great!!
Count me in.

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

Too Cool.... I'll put it on the Calendar....

I was afraid that we left permanent marks after the last one...

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

I'm in!
See everyone there-
THANKS Phil!!
BillM

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

I really wish I was closer...

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

My 60 Bugeye won't be road-worthy for a few years, but I would like to get to know the Seattle LBC community, if you don't mind an islander in the mix.

Can I bring my Rover as a substitute?

If so, please PM the location information to me.

Cheers,

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

Yay! Chris - all are welcome; and please bring your Rover! When we get closer to the date, I'll email the address/directions to interested parties. Can't wait to see you all!

Phil

aeronca65t - thanks for editing!

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

I have wanted to get to one of the meetings for the past year. I think I will have my bugeye running by then. I got to meet two N****T Bills at the Bellevue car show, and I would like to meet more of you. Can you let me know when/where exactly the next meeting is? Also, how do you decide what to work on? Do people tell you in advance what they would like to work on? What are we supposed to bring?
Kevin

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

We tend to work on the things that need doing the most. The kind of thing that would take one guy days or weeks, but 4 or 5 guys just a few hours. There are always more hands than needed for the BIG things so there are always side projects going on too, as well as swapping lies and swatting flies. If my brakes haven't been done by then, that's one thing for me to do. I'm hoping to already have the lowering kit installed.

Hey, I bid and won a Harley "shorty" muffler. The bid was for one but I got TWO. I'll bring the extra along if someone is interested. Maybe we can test fit that

Re: NODoody Sat Feb 12 Seattle [Jones]

Lets see...

1 Swap my 5 speed in
2 New valve seals
3 Grease bearings

If we can get number one done I'll be really happy.
If I can also help on someone elses list that would be great!!

I put 2 quarts of 30 weight oil in the 4 speed today.
It quieted down a lot!!
I'm going with the "lets swap in the 5 speed" idea for 2/12.

Hey Rick.....do you want to add GX double valve springs when you change out the valve stem seals??? LMK...I still have the set from my A15.

BTW.....you will LOVE the 5-speed, so definitely do it!

I had the 5 speed in but it needed new bearings so BillM rebuilt it for me.
It's been ready to go in for a while now but doing this in the cold and rain just isn't that great a plan.
Phil opening up his home again is just what I need for this job, I really appreciate this.

Besides the work on the cars, we should hold our first face to face planning meeting for the trip in July. Looks like we may have some hospitality being offered in Missoula on our first night out. With a place to stay in South Dakota already, ... now we just need someone in Wyoming and all our stops could be pre planned!

If I bring my 5-speed we could set a Guiness record and do two conversions in one day. Or at least we could drink a lot of Guiness and talk about the record.

Oh wait you guys mean the "other" coast!!

See you in Wisconsin, maybe we could arrange a demo installation there

Phil
Go Ducks beat Auburn

Knowing BillM if you can come up with three 2x6's and a come along it could happen.

Lets see;

clothes
tools
spare parts
210 tranny
2x6's
come along
driver (me)

I can fit all that in my Midget, were will the cooler full of Guiness go ;o}
