I've been getting ready to lift the poorly engine from our BN1, I got stuck last weekend as my engine hoist would not reach far enough so tomorrow I'm going to have a go with a chain block hanging from the barn roof.
Any how..some of the nuts and bolts on the car seem to be an odd size, for example, the brass nuts that hold the down pipe onto the manifold are bigger than 7/16ths and smaller than 1/2, so what are they?
I've found this in a few places, in the tool roll I have 4 old 'Austin' spanners, they seem better not a fit for all the bolts.
I am quite familiar with UNF and UNC, am I dealing with Whitworth? What is the spanner sizes that go with whitworth threads?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Ben
