I filled up my truck the other day - $100! OUCH. Not the best time to buy a big truck.

They are doing you know what to us where the sun don't shine and what the heck did we do other than work for a living.

don't - we're moving to a house with a 20 minute drive to the station (for the commute to work). That's up from 2 minutes current.

No joke, I'm thinking about buying a Prius - we get 12.4mpg in the LR. I can stand doing 10 miles a week at that, but not 180...

'Nother one...

I'm really glad that I sold the Suburban -
'94 3/4 ton,454,3-1/2 tons,& a 42 gallon gas tank.
At 359.9,it really adds up ($151.16)& 8MPG in town!

3 years ago I sold my Subaru wagon (24 mpg) for my current little Hyundai (35 mpg). 1.5 years ago I moved 10 miles closer to work (now about 16 miles one way). Needless to say, I'm very happy with both of those choices.

One of my friends bought a Prius 1.5 years ago. She's now got about 50k miles on it, and gets 50 mpg or so regularly. She's very happy!

Just think about those poor people with HUGE power boats /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

funny how Priuses tend to dissapear off our lot every time the gas $$ jumps over $3 a gallon.
Our Scion gets 35 mpg. that's pretty good.
the Yaris gets 40.
And the Prius depends on how you drive it. I can go out and play around with one. Do the same 10 mile trip twice. I can hot rod it and get about 24 MPG. than go and drive it conservativly and get 48 MPG.
It's fun.
But here's how I see it. You trade in your paid-for gas hog with minimum coverage insurance for a spankin new Prius, and where did that get you? Now you can take all that money you saved on gas, and send it (and then some) to the bank and insurance company.
It's a different story if your gas hog is almost new, with a big payment.
I think the better plan would be to get an older Toyota Corolla or Honda Civic that's been maintained.
Or get a Bog-ol Diesel truck and run it on fryer grease!!! heeheheheh

And you think that's bad. My house insurance in Florida went up by $500 this year because of florida legislation. No premium increase just Florida add ons.
