While my bro had the B on the jack stands he started it up for me to hear. My nephew noticed that the rear drive wheel was turning.
What was strange was that if you put the slightest pressure on the gear stick it would speed up.
Should the wheel turn while it is out of gear?
 
...and thn see the other side start spinnin' in the opposite direction, IIRC.
 
Last year I put the B up on stands for the winter and dutifully went in every weekend to rotate the rear wheel. Figgered since I left it in gear, I was keeping the gears in oil as it was a brandy new rebuilt Quantum tranny and John had pointed out that rust on gears was common in storage situations. Of course while was rotating the right wheel, the left one was going the other way and no gears were turning at all. Lesson learned.
