Now that's dedication! Or stupidity...

So despite having received 3rd degree burns all over my back and shoulders yesterday and being in substantial pain, I pulled Baby Bertha out of the garage and gave her a wash off.
It was only a quick wash as I was running low on shampoo, but it got the majority of the crud off and showed up the various marks on the paint work. The tops of the front wings are a little hazy, the are some scuffs on the bonnet and some a few more on the boot lid. I also noticed a slight bubble on the rear panel, just to the side of where the number plate goes, and about a square inch apearing on the left pillar about 3 inches from the bottom. The pics don't seem to many of the flaws up. Other than the wash off I got the Bar Keepers friend out and cleaned off the remaining hubcaps. Tomorrow I think I'll tackle the windshield surround. Hopefully the pain will subside. Enjoy the pics!

Your right, that's shiny.

Don't you guys have stuff called "sun block" over there?!?!

gawd. How ~primitive~. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

Car looks FINE, BTW. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Nice work, that's a shiny car!

Doc: The really dumb thing is that I sell sunscreen for a living and always have some around the house! It didn't feel that hot when I was working, but I underestimated how long it would take to cut the grass... 4 hours just to do the back yard!
Car does look shiny in pics, but there's quite a bit to be sorted. I think it can wait for the time being though, I reckon getting the car running shall be the priority!

heh... You're your own worst customer!!!

I saw the mower. Mebbe ya need a W I D E R one?!? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

As for the finish flaws: "Go Before Show"!! You can always make it ~pretty~ later! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Definately need a wider one, my grass is really thick so with that one I can only cut a 6 inch strip at a time, and the bag needed emptying after every stripe! The next one won't have a pull start either! And it'll have a seat, and a steering wheel... but it's always started on the first pull so the money goes into the Sprite for now!

Looks good. Love to see the rest of her.

That's not dumb......that's irony! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I have decided to buy an engine stand and sand blast cabinet, but will rent the hoist as it will only be needed for a day when removing and another when replacing. I shall crank the BMW up this week and move it so the Sprite can be pulled out of the garage properly. Weather should be good this week, so no excuses!
