...please help stop me from immediately taking her apart again to deal with her wiring. It will be easier to pull the existing harness and replace it, which will lead to a list of might-as-wells that will soon result in a full stripping and repaint. Not that this has happened to anyone here.

I did the entire rewire of the Tunebug in a weekend -- was the first thing I ever did on the car so I was working even slower than normal. You should be able to do it in a day, no problem. Very little to have to take apart. I left the dash in place.

I'm glad I did it.

Oh I don't doubt that a sane person could do it Drew, I just know that I'll end up taking anywhere the harness touches back to bare metal so I know it's been handled from a preservation POV, and then what will seem silly just doing that, and pretty soon she'll be on a rotisserie for a full repaint....

I'm already having second thoughts on the re-spray I had done.
They have had the car for two months. Doing an old school fine job...BUT...
I know I'll always regret I didn't do it right and rotisserie
the car.
Sigh...life's about living with choices. Why must I regret
so many of mine?

LOL, you just don't know how many times I have thought of starting over with Miss Agatha.

If the wires need fixing, Tom, then fix them. Take a day and do it. Wires out, wires in, drive!

I've never regretted the fact that I didn't do a full restoration on the Tunebug. Sure, I've got some bodywork still to be handled, but the simple truth is that you can strip a Bugeye down to a bare shell in a weekend. There's just not that much there. I'll eventually get to it, but first I want to enjoy the little guy a bit.

Nah, just get out there and drive it. You won't regret it then. Besides, you can always fix things if you need to. Bugeyes are simple cars. So what if you have to fix it again in 10 years.

10 years? My gosh Drew, I'll be 82, Think I will pass.

Then you shouldn't worry about it at all, Jack. Just get out and drive some more!

Took the Tunebug out last night for a 50 mile run. Still have the exhaust leak issue, but everything else is working pretty well. That screaming little motor is addictive!
