Picked up the Pep Boys 2-ton hoist, a leveler, and a Harbor Freight engine stand today. Boy, was that a lot of weight to put into a small Hyundai! I'm off to bundle up and brave the cold garage to assemble the hoist. Got to be able to play with my new toys, after all.

Wish I'd had that leveler this morning.

Good job!
Tools like that are dangerous near me. Have fun out there.

I got the hoist from PB as well. I had to do what jack did to pull the motor in the Midget. Jack stands and then it will slide under. It just misses by an inch or so.

Assembly will come today, if it warms up a bit (7 degrees right now). I got the leveler from Pep Boys, same brand as the hoist.

Should I be able to pull the motor by myself, or will an assistant be handy? I'm out in the sticks a bit, so rounding up helpers (even with the usual beer & pizza bribes) is a little difficult.

Even if the assistant is an extra pair of eyes (Mrs.), it'll help a lot, just to see the clearances and angles.
Of course it's totally doable by yourself.
Good luck Drew, keep us posted!

Of course you can do it your self. Heck just go real slow and do not force anything, it is not necessary. The only prob is the drivers side engine mount and it all has to be unbolted and come out in peices. All six bolts off, it has to kind of bend aroung the stearing shaft. Course if the shaft is out no prob.
