I've rented the lens many times, but the stars lined up just right for me recently and I have the money to buy it for myself, so now I can use it whenever I want to :thumbsup: Some past results with this lens (on my old camera), I haven't actually used it yet with my new D90...

Yup... Although it's actually a tool for me, it will be mainly used for stage performance and event work - much like my use of it in the past when I rented... I did go for a walk this afternoon, just to make sure it works fine, and I'll be using it all next week for our major Calgary Spoken Word Festival... I had been planning to rent it next week but now I don't need to...

It's way too bulky for a large crowd like the Stampede, you clearly haven't seen this lens in person... Besides that's what my (17 - 50 F/2.8) wide angle lens is for...

From reading the subject, I thought that you had bought a British car.
 
Thats the lens my daughter keeps raving about. She wants it also!
Nikon does lens like nobody else. I bought her a 55/200 VR for her birthday.
Even that little thing helps her take amazings shots suprised me.
Nice pictures by the way!
Some times B/W is just captures the moment .
