if this goes here, but it is Miss Agatha related.

I have this good friend, retired Colonel, great guy but changes his clothes at least three times a day and has outfits for all occusions. You know the type, thinks a hard days work is sweeping the garage.

Anyway he droped by today and was looking at Miss Agatha and commented. You took her all the way to Huntsville to have em put a few parts on? Who are you going to have do the rest of the stuff?

You know I just did not know what to say. So said very little but the facts. No way he can even think of someone doing what we do.

Wife and I must of laughed for 10 min after he left. In his BMW roadster of course. After all, got to look the look and walk the walk.

Often found that the "good lookers" have no depth to them!

That's why we so cool Tony, we are a couple of scroungie old men who just go with the flow.

jack, there will always be people that may not completely understand your love of miss agatha but then again i don't understand certain hobbies others have. for me, this is simply a labor of love and would never expect anyone else to understand or appreciate it as much as me. keep truck'n my friend... i appreciate your efforts!

But... I'm confounded by people that pay money to have simple bodywork and paint done.

It is all relative to your experience, skill, tools, and aptitude.

This little hobby of ours is certainly not for everyone. Lots of folks can't quite grasp why we pour money, time, and love into these little old cars that will always be slow, cramped, and probably more expensive than you would think. And we love them all the more for all of those little quirks.

It's one of the reasons why we all spend so much time here--because folks here get it.

Oh it is in the striping booth. Does it have a name Tony. It looks so forlorn.

No, Jack - I don't name cars...tomorrow they pressure wash it in preparation for chemical stripping.

Well you have so many you would have run out of names anyway. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Jack,you have a friend always.

Many are confused.

Patrick

BTW same with the pets I have rescued or rather have become my friends.

I had a friend who named all his cars "after you." Then when a pretty girl asked, "what is your cars name?" He could always honestly answer "I named it after you." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
