Well I was pretty tweaked all night last night after yesterdays episode. No one has the correct fittings locally so I decided to bypass the oil cooler for now. And that I did. Not sure I like how much hotter its running but nevertheless it Ran great. finally got the really open it up a bit, I found I am running way lean. (Not so good) from midrange to WOT. Actually had to drive home with the choke on the richen it out. But no I can clean my garage, park it and take a much needed break.

What kind of fittings are you using? I've done all my plumbing using AN Spec, so availability is never a problem.
Good luck with the mixture issue! When I was running the single HS4 on the 1500 in the Spit, I used a KW needle, but that engine was turning out 138 HP.

The oil cooler I have came from my Street Car. Used BSP Fittings. Was probably an old Moss unit. Made by Serck. Woked fine though. On the street car anyway. Not so good on this. I plan to just convert it to AN spec wheich is what everything else is so no worries.

Turned down a spare needle in my drill press today. Marked the range where it went lean and thinned it out a bit in the middle and feather it down a smidge on the bottom. Tokk it ou today seems to run great. Ill do some more tuning this way to narrow down what type os needle Im looking for I found this great comparsion chart online works excellet. Really a better way to analize differences in needles than looking at a page full of numbers.

I used to do that - long time ago in a galaxy far away (early to mid 80's)

Do you have a link to that site? Please?
