This past Sunday, an FAA official drove 3 1/2 hours to our place to present me with this award. Since we were having a family get together, the wife set it up with him to have it during that time, he also thought it would be a good time. I was quite set back, as I didn't know it was going to happen here. Quite a nice fellow to drive that far and then back, 7 hrs total! PJ

A little fuzzy, sorry.

Hey - congratulations! I think you mentioned an expected award awhile back. Well done! Looks like Wilbur and Orville approve too.

Say, why does the plaque say July 22?

Quite an accomplishment; well done.
CONGRATS Paul!!

Thanks Tom! July,22 was the date it was supposed to be presented at an FAA affair in Oklahoma city. The actual 50 year date is May 15, 2014. The wife asked if it could be presented here with the family present and the official thought it was a nice idea. Amazing he drove that far just for this. I knew nothing about the presentation date change, even though the family knew it, no one said a thing. PJ

Thanks Elliot, Along with the plaque, all my confidential FAA records and history were presented in a fancy ribbon and seal bound folder. I didn't know they knew that much about me! Sure brought back some memories. :highly_amused: PJ

Very impressive!

(and kudos to the FAA guy for driving so far.........usually, we're all "beating up" on the FAA guys) :friendly_wink:

Paul - if the FAA rep made a 7 hour trip for you, I think that shows you how important the award is!

Again - bravo!

Congratulations Paul, that is some accomplishment.

Congratulations! An impressive record.

Wondered when we'd get to SEE it, Paul! Congrats! Display it proudly.

Congratulations Paul. Well done!

BIG Congratulations. I'm an instructor pilot and FAA examiner in several disciplines but I'll never get that same award. I crashed, burned, and got my hand slapped with a 30 day suspension (which I served in the burn ward ). You have done an excellent job Paul !!
