I had a FedEx snafu a couple of weeks ago. Item was scheduled for delivery on a Thursday, Thursday came and went, no package. Tracked it again Friday, it still says "On-Time" (even though they clearly missed the on-time date) but it's stuck in the local depot for no discernable reason. Call the depot the following Monday to see if we can just come pick it up, we're told we can't because it's on the truck for delivery that day -- despite the online tracking system clearly showing it's still in the depot. Tuesday I get a call telling me that they need to set up a delivery appointment(!) because an adult signature is required. (No, it wasn't booze; and for some reason they have no problem leaving a case of wine at the door without knocking.) Okay fine, how about Wednesday between noon and 2pm? Great.
10:15am Wednesday, the driver rang the bell and handed me the package... with a large sign on it saying "WEDNESDAY NOON - 2PM: PLEASE DELIVER ON TIME!"
But that's nothing compared to the shipment of chocolate that USPS sat on (literally) for a week in June. Or the other USPS package that was "out for delivery" yesterday morning but by 5pm was mysteriously re-estimated for delivery today (we'll see). Or the other USPS package that sat in Austin for four days after the delivery date had passed.
