TR4/4A Not good!

Country flag
Offline
I bought a 62 short bubble hood TR4 in NC, right before Christmas. Had a trucking co I have dealt with several times pick it up. ( local co). Driver called me Christmas eve and said he lost it off the trailor in GA. Merry Christmas, huh! Got the car delivered today, what's left of it anyway! It was a pretty solid car. PO had started resto years ago, frame was painted and bushing replaced. It's toast now. Even broke the starter mount off the engine block. Thankfully no one was behind it and nobody hurt. Looks like I have another parts car

eek.

And the driver's insurance company will make it good?

Maybe the truck driver swapped his wrecked TR4 with your solid one? -doubtful.
Bummer.
I've never seen a car "get lost" off a trailer. And I don't want to either.

You could put it on ebay "looked great when I parked it on the trailer".

Not many good parts left. Hope you get all your money back and then some.

Ah, it'll buff out I bet. Hey somebody had to say something more positive!

Wow, and what's really sad is that's another TR gone that will never be back on the road.

Marvin, Sorry for you and all the Triumph fans that will never get to see your finished product. If I run across any good ones I'll let you know.
How's the 250 coming?

Happened on Christmas Eve too.....That would make me an Ebenezer Scrooge, for sure.

The bright spot is there is an A type over drive in that's suppose to be good. I have a TR 4a that I needed front inner wings and valance for. These will be usable with a little work.

Wayne, waiting on painter right now for the 250. I have the body work done and primed. I've been going thru all the parts, cleaning or repairing. Spent all day on just the heater and wiper motor.

Sorry about the dips**it driver. Friend of mine was restoring a 67 Chevelle Conv. and had it primered on top and took it to a well known paint/body shop, known for excellent jobs, and personal friend, to primer the bottom and remove some dents. He said he was working and asked his Bud (the owner) if they should get the car on lift better. "No", was the answer, well in due time the 67 dropped sideways off lift and had to be lifted out by boom truck. Car went home immediately and friend bought lift and hired another friend, who does body work elsewhere, to help and paint car. Wouldn't be so bad but the owner of the Chevelle owns a trim shop and has had quite a few cars in Scottsdale Auctions and shows.
