Not British - but a Harley Question

So, the other day I had a few minutes & dropped in to the Harley Davidson International office here at Camp Casey, Korea...after a bit of discussion/negotiating, the guy handed me a printout on a bike I had been asking him about....bottom line: 2006 XLHC Sportster 1200 Custom in Black Cherry for $8,828 delivered to the HD dealership in my hometown....I have the VIN of the bike - its in stock at the factory.

Are any of you guys near a dealership where you can stop in to find out the rock bottom price of such a bike?

I believe its a good deal but before I try to put together all the necessary paperwork, I want to make sure....

Not sure about the 1200, but last year, Harley had a special deal where you could buy a new 883 Sportster for under $5500. I was tempted.

These days, the nicer 883 Sporty is around $7700 (for a black one). The regular 883 XL Sporster is about $6600. There is more info about this ~HERE~.

Well, from that I got a MSRP of $9,595 - $11,150

But, I'm interested in specific dollars...sounds like $8,828 isn't necessarily a great deal!

I was going to say that the price sounded about right to me but not a great deal. Then I found this on e-bay for a 2007 XL 1200C with about 5 miles.

so unless he's throwing in some other goodies I don't know if it's worth the aggravation.

BTW how much longer you going to be in Korea? There's a Harley Dealer the next town over if I can escape (work) and get over there B4 you come back I will.

I fly home on the 22nd.

& that's the exact bike I'm talking about - only difference is color! Yep, don't think its worth the hassle...
