After 45+ years, I have developed a hankering for a camera.
I did annual staff photography, and my first one to use (continued with the addition of an SR-1 Minolta and a Rollie) was a Hexacon, which was an east German 35MM re-badged, and mine had a British lens.
Horrible thing....big rubberized cloth shutter moved horizonatlly, taking "candid" shots was hard, as it would wake the dead.

Anyway, no longer do I have darkrooms, developer, hypo fixer, drying tables, enlargers, so operational may not even be a big deal.

With the many various interests of this august grouping, anybody know where there is a cheap one hiding?

Thanks.

Dave

Nikon Digital SLR.

Old Nikon lenses will fit and the new ones are great cameras.

My D40 cost under $400 a few years ago, but prices have gone up. I feel like I'll never outgrow it.

The very similar D3000 can be gotten for about $465 ~From Newegg~

Don't think all the lenses will fit if the info I got from this board is correct

I've searched evilbait, seen them go for $18.00 to $808.00.
Allegedly.

I did find out they were imported by a company in NYC and re-branded, with either glued-on nameplate or with two rivets.

By the way, I have an SR-1 Minolta too.
These days it sits on a shelf in my office as part of a display/shrine of old crap I used to use (I say that with affection).

You could probably pound 10 penny nails with that Minolta.

SRT-102 Minolta here. Couple of extra lenses to go with it. Don't know if it will ever see any usage again, but it sure has a nice feel to it. Love the sensation of the shutter when it opens and closes.

May have to dig it out again...

heh.

A number of my old cameras are on a shelf inna hovel as eyewash (or "bait"). Old folders, a Speed Graphic, Leica III-C, Argus "brick". Before I could afford Nikons I had a brace of Miranda bodies and fixed-length lenses. Good stuff. Made me enuff money to start using Nikons.
