Another of the zillion things I never knew -

NORAD Santa Tracker

The NORAD tradition of "tracking Santa" and answering kids' Christmas phone calls, started in 1955 when a Colorado Springs newspaper put the wrong phone number in a Sears "Talk to Santa" ad. The number shown was actually the CONAD red phone.

Since 1955, NORAD (CONAD) has kept up the tradition. Bravo to the volunteers who answer thousands of phone calls every hour.

Was just out and they were interviewing an officer from NORAD - he (surprisingly) admitted that they don't know what technology Santa uses but that it exceeds theirs. He also said that it appears that Santa travels faster than the speed of sound. I'm not used to such candour from the gubberment. I always thought that was "classified"
