maybe somebody should whisper in the lawyer's ear? Keoke? Editor Reid? Not 7777, though, because he might do something untoward given the temptation.

I doubt that would help since most of em think they know it all!---Keoke- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

$400,000 isn't really that far off for this car. It is special, even among 100S cars, which are going to cost $300,000 each for a run-of-the-mill one, to coin a phrase.

The days of nice 100S cars for $150-200,000 are gone (at least for now). I am told that they already have an offer that is not that far off of $400,000 anyway, so why should they change anything?

Why should they change? Because their terms probably are scaring off most of the interested buyers, and maybe they'd have an offer of $400k, and then they could get an offer of more! You want the people who are ready, willing and able to buy it to be in the game, not running away!

I hope you and Anthony are friends... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

how do you think I know the problems ol' 7777 might cause? He didn't get the nickname "wet willy" for nothing.

Millie’s High Bid - $0.00 - Auction Ends 2-28
Wednesday, February 7, 2007
As of 9:00 am, Wednesday, February 7, 2007 the current high bid is:

$0.00 US

Looks like that lawyer gonna be driving Millie around for a while. I wonder if he'll remember to change the oil.

Well SHG, its a bit early yet and my particular likes do not enclose historical provenance. But I have a feeling that this car will require restoration to its most historical form, just like its predecessors, to attract that kind of price.---Keoke ?

Well said.

>Given the high reserve for Fred Hunter's old 100S, it should be noted

IMHO, if there is an appropriate car for the Healey Museum, this is it.

Well Greg, Like I said there must be a whole lotta fellas got ah lot of silly money to throw around.---Keoke- /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/hammer.gif

It looks as if the 100S values have been moving lately. One just sold here in the USA, offered without public notice, and sold very quickly in 2-3 days at $300K. Antoher sold at Christies in England recently at 200 Pounds Sterling ($400K USD).

Unfortunetly the history of 3804 is a bit clouded and so it is hard to put a value to it. It appears it does not have the history proported by the sellers. If this proves out will the buyer have recourse to his purchasse of a car with a less than expected provenence?! 3804 is certainly a special car, as all 100S cars are. It appears it does have Sebring history. However the rest is very questionable.

So now the marketplace decides what that is really worth. With the value of Jag C and D-Types soaring and the Ferrari and Masser. values climbing, I really don't think the 100S values are all that bad. In fact the car is extremely usable on the track and street and very accepted in events throughout the world. In today's values perhaps it is still a deal at $400K??? I know, I know, that is a far cry from what we all have been used to, and would like to see, however "the world does turn" and "things do change"... sometimes not as we would like

My parents sold a daily driver tri-carb in 1973 for $350.00!!!!!!!

dar100,

None of want to go there. I sold my 1966 red 289 Mustang in great condition for $600 about the same time. I sure wish I had that car back at 10+ times the price.
