Noisey

My 1977 MG midget runs loud especially with top up. Any ideas how to quiet the engine. Heard of stuff you can put under the hood like insulation but not sure if it really works. Any ideas??

Make sure your transmision shifter boot is 100% and doesn't have any cracks or holes. same for the firewall..any holes not sealed will let lottsa noise in..I assume your exhaust isn't leaking and your motor isn't knocking

Just depends on what type of noise we're talking about, ie tire/road noise, engine, exhast, cooling fan clutch stuck, cat under hood...

and yes, you can put dynamat insulation under carpets and Moss (or one of the suppliers) provides a under hood insulation piece - even says MG as I recall, but, they are little cars with no roof and are close to road, wheels and engine - they will always be louder.
