Normal oil pressure when driven into garage for rear seal replacement. No oil pressure when starting attempt after seal replacement. What could have happened? Bad oil pump? Engine rebuilt two years ago.

Problem solved. The car sat with empty crankcase for a couple of weeks. We blew some compressed air into the gauge port and heard nothing to indicate broken parts, so we then let the starter run a bit longer to prime the system and the oil pressure returned. All is well.

Yes, that can be the longest 45 seconds of your life... cranking the engine and watching the gauge, waiting (and hoping) for oil pressure to show up.
