No more getting ready for the snow, it is here

It started snowing about 1400, about the time my son called me to tell me he was at his girlfriend's and not to worry his Volvo was Swedish and would do well in the snow. Needless to say he and five other teen agers are the guest of his girlfriend's mother and are spending the night now as we have just passed the 12 inch mark.

I had traded my Hummer in the spring for a Dodge Ram (Ram Ram actually is the name for it now I beleive). The Hummer was all they claimed in the snow but the Ram did very well as I picked my daughter up. On the way home we broke out the tow strap and pulled an older couple in and Oldsmobile 88 up a hill. It is a MESS out there.

Just as we turned up our road we were passed by three snowmobiles. I would bet we pass the 18 inch mark by midnight

Local news here says some of you guys will see snowfall rates of 3 inches an hour at the peak of the storm. That's really coming down.
This whole thing is bizarre. it's like there is an invisible wall just south of the NY PA border and the storm magically ends there. We aren't supposed to see any snow at all, and I live maybe 15 miles from the PA border.

I am glad to hear that, we are driving to see Norwich University next week. The lady at Admissions suggested that unless we have 4 wheel drive, to wait until March.

Major, I'm sitting here with a mouthful of toothpaste so I can';t type long.
Norwich is school #4 on my sons list.
Maybe tomorrow I can find out more.

Not a bit of snow here (just east of the Delaware River in nw NJ).

Good job since all I have is three rwd cars
(plus an Accord that I never drive).

But my brother and Dad in central NJ are having blizzard condtions.

One of my other brothers is in central NJ right now, waiting to drive back to his home in Richmond, VA.
He'll wait for another day or so, because of the weather.

As of right now (we're expecting 3 to 8 more tonight) we have 25 inches, just missing the total of the 1993 St Patricks day blizzard. I just finished shoveling my drive way. I just hope the township plow truck is done plowing my driveway shut
