Wow, I found this site last night and I've already had multiple questions answered simply by reading other people's posts. Well, tonight I joined and have posted two questions. I recently purchased a 79 Spitfire from this older gentleman who currently owned 3. He threw his back out restoring one and can't get down and into them anymore so he's selling. In the two months I've owned the car I've had more compliments and questions than I would have ever believed! This car really turns heads! And the car really needs to be repainted. This forum seems like it will be extremely helpful in these little jobs I've already been faced with owning this car. I also own a 71 Bonneville so I guess I've got the Triumph bug. Take it easy...

Hi S-Z:

Welcome!
You'll find a lot of bike / Brit-car owners here (I'm an AMA Life Member).
Glad you're enjoying your car....they are fun!
Don't forget to put a picture of your car in the "Photos" section, if you have one.

Yep, you've found LBC Nirvana, all right. Welcome!

Where in the Vol State are you?

[/ QUOTE ]Amazing, isn't it, the kind of attention these cars draw? About 20 years ago, I had a '72 GT6, mostly faded Laurel Green but with a few small dents, some rust in the front of the nose, and one Carmine Red front quarter valence. None of that stopped people from constant thumbs-up signs! Currently, I've a white Herald 1200 sedan (see picture at left of my posts), and that CONSTANTLY draws favorable comments.

Welcome to the amazing world of the British Car Forum, where technical help, advice, and large doses of humor flow like Guiness from the tap.

Mmm... Guiness... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thirsty.gif

Doh! I'm an idiot.
My first thought was, Why on earth would you want a giant Pontiac if you're into Triumphs?
Triumph Bonneville, Banjo ya bonehead.

Welcome. Glad to have you. I actually just sold off my last bike, but they were all older ricers so it was no big loss.
Join in and have fun.
