Not much different than the MkII Sprite I'm working on presently (
www.raysmg.com ... click on "The Spridget Project")...except he hasn't cut his in half yet. I did notice that he has one pair of panels that are not avialable on this side of the pond; I'm envious.
He mentions the rear sping hangers. I'm currently waiting on a pair of spring boxes myself; Moss lists them but they are "special order" items...6 weeks from England. There's not a good way of replacing the boxes without taking out the rear bulkhead. That being a critical support structure I decided to go back with all new sheet metal. With the bulkhead out, the only thing left holding the front half to the back half were the rotted out sills and floor pans...so, out came the sawzall.
Cheaper to find one with less rust?...probably. Then again, it's REALLY hard to know just what shape the critical parts, such as those spring boxes, are in until you dismantle the car. So, I went with what I had and decided that from the beltline down it would be new.
Being retired now I have time, so, I can afford to invest the time it takes to do one like this. And in truth, when it is finally finished, I might just look back and say the real reward was in the journey, not the destination.
