Nice, *done* MGB

I'm putting this here so more folks will see it. I know it should go in the MG section but I always consider the MGB the most "generic" Brit sports car (And that's not a put-down: I own an MGB.)

Anyway, I just saw a very nice British Racing Green MGB roadster for sale. The car is on Rt. 206 here in NJ, about 5 miles north of Princeton University. Sorry no photos.....I didn't have my camera and the cell phone takes terrible snaps.

It's a '79 (rubber bumper) car with very nice paint, top, etc. Had nice Minilite-clone aluminum wheels.

I know sometimes we think we can get a good deal on fixer-upper for a couple of thousand dollars and somehow save money fixing it up. In the long run, I think you'd be money ahead buying a car like this. To my eyes, this car was totally *done* and ready-to-go. Asking price was $8000 but it said "Or Best Offer" so you might get it for $7K or so. This is about a third of the price of a new Miata for a very nice British sports car.

I have no financial interest in this car and did not fully inspect it, so as always, buyer beware. I can't guarantee I'll be in that area again for a few weeks. The phone number on the car is 908-359-3342.
If you're looking for a nice B, this one looks like a keeper for a reasonable price.

I don't like the "new" ones. It reminds me of a mullet. Second gen is my favorite. Saw one in a field laid up and left a note. Haven't heard anything so I need to take a ride. A little too new to have grass 2' high around it and pushed up in a corner, but it aint movin' just the same.

I found a CB/B here that other than needing floors and a trunk bottom, it's a really solid car. Missing a few things, rockers look great as well as the underside of the car. Supposedly runs, but needs carb work and a as tank. Asking $800, but myself personally wounldn't go above $500. I'm gonna go give it a better look next week maybe.
