Nice car, what's with the price?

Yup, that's stupid money for a 'restored' car. A very, very low-mileage example in a particularly desireable colour scheme, it'd still be pushing the high end.

Interestingly, 'bidders' identities protected'...

Could it be because it looks better than new?

Non-stock carpet colour, sagging door cards, the pleather top... I'd love to think the market for RB Midgets was picking up, but I'd say it's almost double market price. My two cents, having bought one last summer.

My feelings exactly! I paid a lot less and have put in twice what I paid. The local guys have estiated the vbalue of my car at least a couple of thousand more than I have in it and its still not close to $8500! I was jsut curious as to whether the value has gone up while I was in the garage.

There was a 63 for sale on ebay.co.uk a couple weeks back with 23,000 miles from new, needing nothing, and it struggled to fetch $6,000. The RB description suggests it's not restored, but looking at the pics I'd disagree. Somethings not right, another suspicious Spridget for sale!

Looks like a very nice $5000 car at most.
