Our own HealeyPassion, AKA Steve, has a nice article about his Rally Tribute BJ7 in the newest Classic Motorsports. I got a good look at his car at Rendezvous 2013 and it's quite impressive!

Which issue of Classic Motorsports is this article in? I have the September issue and don't see it, so I am guessing it is ib tne Oct issue, which I haven't received yet.

Guys, Thanks for the codos. Sorry I've been absent... just got back from Santa Fe, NM ... participating in the Santa Fe Concorso. It was absolutely the best car show I've ever been to... and undoubtedly the best I'll ever go to as a participant. The event was actually 3 days... Fri/Sat/Sun.
Friday was a meet and greet with Denis McCluggage and Sir Stirling Moss. Saturday was a Mountain Tour. Almost all the cars participated in the Mountain Tour!...probably 70+ of the 100 in Sunday's golf course show (they limit it to about 100 cars)... that's pretty amazing... these cars weren't just static automotive art... they were owned by car guys that weren't afraid to drive them. It was about an 85 mile tour that saw some nice country roads... nice corners ... and some very brisk driving.
I talked to one of the concorso board members and he said that they estimated the value of the 100ish vehicles as $200 million! What was so spectacular is that it was an extremely eclectic collection of automobiles.... that make it especially interesting. He said, for example, if they had 6 nice applications from a marque, they would only invite 2 or 3 of them... so the field was preselected to ensure diversity and quality.
I didn't win anything... didn't expect to... my class was won by a beautiful low production low mileage 1962 Ferrari Lusso 250 GTL (one of 351 made), second was by a low mileage, uniquely optioned super high quality Jag. XKE, ... you get the idea. They certainly would have been my picks. There were million dollar cars that didn't get awards so I couldn't feel to left out!
What I did get was an on-camera interview by the History Channel for a series on Magnificent Motorcars which is due to air 2nd Qtr. 2014. They did about half a dozen on-camera interviews at this event for the show.... and a bunch of footage of our car. Of course, the interview could well end up on the cutting room floor as I'm sure they take way more footage than they will ever use. That said, it was still fun. Cheers, Steve
