Chuck picked up our boxoparts for Binabox today. Amazing, $9xx worth of stuff fit into a box I carried into the house. I could do much better with $900 at the mall. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

He also picked the head up today. He's definitely going to polish it, still undecided about porting it himself. I picked up a copy of Peter Burgess' book, we'll see.

AND. *GULP* Binabox could be going to the shop NEXT week. PAINT!

Porting is easier than polishing!

RTFM!

You have all the "machines" to do it, I saw them.

RTFM - ?

good thing he's already painted Tony's spy cams too... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

grrr... was gonna say something on the porting part, but couldn't remember the link to the folks in the US that'll port an 18V head... as I recall their prices weren't too bad, but I can't remember who posted the link on the site, and my dumb arse didn't bookmark it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Porting just some chaulk, matching the head to gasket & block to gasket & a little dremmel work....

AIR grinder, Tony. I've a rig to do it in an eyeblink. I'll set up some photos.

I have the names of two people that will P&P. Ummm, Sean Brown and Hap Waldrop...flowspeed.com & acmespeedshop.com

As far as prices, I don't know what's a fair price, but I know the estimates I got from these 2 guys.

Its a piece of cake - I did my first when I was 16 - & Chuck's a professional machinist!

Hap does good work - I've seen it

They should want the intake and exhaust manifolds as well. All need to be matched to eachother. If they didn't ask for 'em, they shouldn't get the job.

And it's $750-$1000 we can use elsewhere. Estimates in town here were in the range of $350-$500. Never heard back from the hotrod shop.

yer images ain't working cause it don't end with .jpg or .gif...

****! Janel - let Chuck do it....he'll finish it in a few hours..

...gasket on manifolds, mark excess with chaulk - grind excess off....gasket on head, mark excess, grind excess off

anything else, Doc?

oh... yeah... it was Flowspeed... The price I saw on their site seemed comparable to the pricing I saw on Peter Burgess site. But I think Burgess includes the head... not sure though.

Shoot Tony. I can do that. Grind. Just grind? Hehe, where's that sawsall?
