so, here's tonight's question. I'm starting to re-hook up all the electrical stuff.

So far, I have tail lights, gauges (though not necessarily backlights - I haven't got there yet)horns and high beams.

I don't have signal lights, brake lights, low beams

any thoughts- is there one magic connection?

The fuses are all good.

Some thoughts.

Do I need both front and back signal lights hooked up for them to work?

Does the engine need to be running for the signals to work?

Are the headlights fused?

thanks all

thanks BTW was driving home yesterday and saw a very pretty Mercedes 450SL with the plates ZIMI LEE - didn't know if you were in town?

And the load on the flasher from both front and rear bulbs is needed for the thing to "throw over" (blink). Iggy needs to be on, engine doesn't need to be running... tho I'd pluu the power lead from the coil while doing any "hot" testing.

Headlamps are not fused (tho installing a relay in there is a great idea).

Check all the grounding points (black wires).

The "magic connection" may be at the firewall where all the rear harness is connected with Lucar bullets and sleeves.

A word about brake lights: check the solid green wire to the brakelight switch before you pull out too much hair over no brakelights. It should be "hot". If so and no lights, THEN check the switch and connectors.

I feel your paint. I'm in the process of putting ina new wiring harness into my 59 BE. So far the hardest part was the turn-signal switch and the FLASHER.
Reading your posts with interests. Seems to be a bit of a difference between BE's and Midgets, but the colors all seem to be the same. Good luck.
