Are these diffecult to find?

Do they have any special hardware?

Anyone have photos?

Anyone have one they want to part with?

I have skills and can repair any damage or broken tops. The biggest concern would be the rear window and price. I don't care if it's aftermarket.

is this another classified thread?

So far as Midgets go, MkI MG Midgets had a factory hardtop, MkII's had another, MkIII/1500's shared the same hardtop...here's a photo of 2 different factory hardtops on Midgets:

....& one of a MkIII/1500 factory hardtop off:

Primary difference in MkII & MkIII/1500 hardtops is the bottom edge is different to fit the body...MkI hardtops are something different altogether & are harder than hen's teeth to find.

Cool, Nice pics and nice job on the storage bumpout on the garage. The Sprite top looks like a Spitefire top.

The Bugeye top is more bulbious and doesn't have the side quarter windows... Right?

Also the Bugeye tops are fibre glas... Right?

Midget tops are fiberglass. Aren't the Bugeye & Mk I Midget tops the same?

Bugeye top is unique as far as I know. The mounting points at the back are different since the rear of the cockpit was pushed back. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they had to change things for the new body.

I have a bugeye hardtop, about which there has been much discussion, see the thread titled "dubious hardtop". There is a pic in there but I'll post another photo from the side after I have dinner.

Others, much more knowledgeable than I, have pronounced it to be an original factory hardtop, and yes, it is fibreglass.

As it should be.

OK, here you go...

I still think that'll fit a MkI Midget.

Nope, Tony, the Bugeye hardtop is a special animal. Won't fit anything else. I've got Bugeyes and MkI Midgets, and the tops won't interchange.
Jeff

K - I accept that...now I've gotta find a Midget MkI hardtop!

That is a Sprite top, of early vintage, and as such will not fit a body-style other than a Bugeye without some modification!

Way to go chris. Thanks for posting that pic again. I'll search out the topic. I see it looks like there are latches on the outside front of the top ya?

So, I guess these tops are hens teeth?

Any repops out there?

What are these worth?

Whooo. That Tony, wanted Bugeye hardtops. What's the world comming to.

Chris keep us posted on the possibility of "pop-offs" of the original please!

Anyone interested in a non stock hardtop? I'm thinking of making a mold similar in style to a soft top.
