Water pump's done. NOW what should I tear up? I mean tear into?

Maybe wire up Emma's hooters and switch out the wood steering wheel? I'm tired of neglecting her because of Binabox.

If the steering wheel hasn't been off in awhile and you don't have a puller, you might put that on hold. Wiring horns sounds painless. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I vote for hooters first. Steering wheels can be a pain in the butt; you've probably already met your quota of that with the water pump /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

Have you done the QC on the waterpump? Like a few top-down miles ~just to be sure~ it's all better? I ask only as a matter of safety and reliability, y'know. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

...any excuse to log a few miles, actually.

Great work Janel,

I agree with Doc, its beauty here today, for a ride with the top down.

I filled her, burped her a few times, let her run 15 minutes. Not a leak anywhere. Belt is tight, no rattle, nothing fell off.

And as close as I can tell from the PO's receipts, the steering wheel's been on since 1992ish.

Chuck's coming home tonight from fishing, going to start building the engine tomorrow, hopefully finish up and drop it in Monday. Then he's leaving again until Thursday night.

I have to have another project besides polishing! ANYTHING but polishing!

I can't find hooters referenced anywher e in the Haynes or Bentley.

Just "Google" it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

It's in the section Titled "Burrow Owls; effective removal techniques" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I think, just for practice, you should remove the water pump assembly again, and put it all back on. Try to get it done within 1 hour this time.

Paul

That's likely what "book" time IS for it, innit?

I bet you don't believe in tying your camel either. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

You really do need to test the water pump under load to make sure that all is well.

So yeah, like Doc says, take it for a spin .

I will take her for a spin, but I had the heater on and warmed her up good. I'll take her out in a bit, just because I can!

Paul, now that I know what I'm doing, I could easily take the water pump assembly apart and reassemble in an hour. Wanna time me?

I wonder... are you in a different time zone?

Offers the possibility of finishing before you start, that does..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
