hey folks, newbie here from n. c., with the v8 fever. I've had midgets in years past, then family came, and now, I have gotten back in, but with Bs, this time. I have a 76, and a 77 parts( educational material to learn by) car that i'm disassembling. some parts to keep, most to get rid of. anyway, I have a burning question, and that is; is there a big cost difference in doing a conversion, vs, having it done? I have the running car, but nothing else, and I have received an estimate of about 10 grand to have mine done, with a newly rebuilt rover engine and tranny, turn key. I don't really have the time to do it, myself, nor the space to have the car sitting, while it's being done. the estimated labor was only around 1800, and I think that it is a fair price, for the work that would be done. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

Hi There MG wanna B,

What you may want to do is post your question in the "Other" section of the Forum. I have to guess someone has undertaken a build such as yours.

Man, $10K!! The $1800.00 in labor sounds "Very" reasonable to me.

What do you plan on building; A "Race Car"??

Regards, Russ

Having completed a V6 conversion in my GT, I can tell you that if 10K is turnkey, including engine and tranny, that's a very realistic price. Not sure how much I have in it (don't WANT to know!), but did it on my own.

OH, and be sure to post over on the MG side of the forum - you'll get lots more input over there.
