Newbie Tech Question- Weber Carb

This newbie has another question. I replaced the Zenith carb in my 1976 1500 manual choke midget with a Weber DGAV carb. The weber is closer to what I'm used to b/c I have had 84 Dodge P/U and 79 Ford Pinto in the past. I installed it according to the instructions and hooked it up. The problem is the engine is reving extremely high and the adjustment screws are not effecting the high rpm. I have ordered a manual but looking for advice on what I can try in the mean time. I'm happy I got the car running for the 1st time in 5 yrs (according to the previous owner, I just doing adjusting so I don't kill the engine. Thanks all!

Is the fuel pump connected to your carb in your 1/7/06 pic?

Can we get a pic of the carb/linkage?

Does it shut off yet?

The fuel pump (mechanical) is connected to the carb. No, still trying to figure out why it won't stop. Could the problems be related? What linkage you want? The manual choke or throttle? Thanks for the help!

Where?

Everything hooked up like this one?

Pull your IGN warning light bulb or disconnect the wire at the voltage regulator.

See if this works

Intake manifold is same as pic but man is more rectangular and has a manual choke. Will try what you suggest. Thanks!

If I understand you correctly...When you turn the car on, it runs full blast & will not stop for anything.

I have never used that one on any of our local piece officers..

Does this pass as an excuse in Michigan?

If so....What does the current real estate market look like up there?

Unfortunately, this will not pass as an excuse in Michigan. They will not only give you a speeding ticket but a fix it ticket as well. Oh well. Real estate prices are cheap but property taxes aren't though.

I agree; float adjustment or fuel pressure regulation were the first two things that came to my mind as though you are getting just the right amount of fuel squirting through that it doesn't flood it out but keeps it racing. I know my Weber was really sensitive to the fuel pressure issue because I was using an aftermarket fuel pump and it took some doing to get it dialed in.
