Newbie saying Hi

I'd been thinking of that or maybe a nearly black/ blue with a light metallic. Probably chrome the windshield surround too to match the 1/4lites. Of course red is always an option, it'd certainly sell well in red.

Your opinion on Cobra-esque racing stripes down the middle?

GavinR

I like them, I have been thinking of black stripes on primrose on my car /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I was thinking aoubt stripes too but I decided that I'm gonna get some big magnetic vinal circles and have numbers in them. So I'll have one for the hood and one for each door and maybe on one the boot. It will be a racer.

Interestingly Woodcote Green Pearlescent was an optional colour, the other optional ones were Oxford Blue, Le Mans Green (both pearl), old English White (solid), the standard colours were Flame Red and Black (solid), BRG and White Gold (metallic), Nightfire Red and Caribbean Blue (pearl). I think I've only ever seen Nightfire, Oxford, Woodcote and one Old English.

Just a bit of useless information!

Egg on face.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif Yes, most definitely Tuesday June 1st is the date, e-mail is corrected now...

Probably pretty smart, but I hate painting silver metallic!

Just about finished the main body of the dash now, haven't done so much this week as been busy getting teeth pulled and paying through the nose for the privilege. Thinking of making a piece up similar to the early MGB crashpad that ran along the top of the dash but out of steel and getting it chromed. It'd look good and would make me wear my seatbelts as I wouldn't fancy contacting it with my head in a hurry! Any thoughts?

Adam

I don't think it will be a problem. I've driven cars with chrome in that area and it's rarely caused any issues. I could do it in black chrome, that might look smart.

What is it with aerosol paints? Painted the whole of the dash white yesterday and then using exactly the same make of paint painted the front facia in black only to have it all react up. If the [censored] manufacturers are gonna use a different type of paint with different colours I wish they'd state it on the can as I've now got to spend a good few hours sorting it out. Just my rant for the day!
