Howdy Everybody,
Was doing a Google search for plans to make a sandbaster cabinet and stumbled across this forum. I just retired from 30 years in the US Navy and now I have no excuse for not gearing up to restore my BT7. Bought it in Quantico, VA back in '89 and merely towed it up and down the East Coast ever since. Stored it in Florida while in Okinawa, but now it is back in my hands. It has spent some time outdoors, so project is going to call for more than an engine tune-up and wax job, but willing to do what "I can" to get it to a functioning state. I expect to read all the Healey postings and ask a "stupid question" ever so often. Any suggestions for starting this "saga" in an organized manner will be greatly appreciated. Starting late, I don't have the time to make too many mistakes.

Welcome, you've come to the right place.

As for sandblaster plans, the best link I had is now dead, but here are three that I have found

https://www.whit.org/stanf/72/tools-n-.htm
https://www.sonic.net/~mizamook/Blastcab.htm
https://www.geocities.com/SoHo/6937/blstbox.html

plus here is a pretty good discussion that may help as well

https://old-engine.com/abrasive.htm

Don't worry about stupid questions, I ask them all the time and most of the folks around here will still help when I need it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Welcome to the forum. The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask.

A suggestion to you before your restoration is to read, read, read. There are some good books out there regarding vehicle restoration and the Healey specifically. Try a yahoo search for these books and you will be surprised at what's out there.

Mostly, don't give up. I almost did with Agatha but fortunately I didn't. I now have a 100-M that does more for me than a vitamin or a visit with the local shrink. We towed Agatha from the east coast to the west coast of Florida and finally to New Mexico where we began her rehab almost 2 years ago. This would never have been done had it not been for this forum who pointed us in the right direction - actually our back yard - to a qualified mechanic for starters. Agatha will be celebrating her 1st Rebirthday the beginning of September and this is one birthday that I am going to enjoy!!! (At my age, birthdays aren't always welcomed. (tee, hee)

So go for it, and then enjoy your Healey.

Oh yes, folks here are very friendly and most of the time they know what they are talking about.

Sorry 'guys', this gal just couldn't resist that. Sometimes my feminine side gets the better of me and objectivity is not my strong suit.

Hi "Chasuezoo" -- interesting to read the nicknames that people create for themselves; any relation to Isuzu? -- I'm sure you'll find the forum to be very helpful. It is one of many resources available to you in your efforts to maintain and enjoy your Healey. Speaking of assistance to maintain and enjoy your Healey, I can't recommend highly enough a certain magazine...

Hey if these folks put up with me they will tolerate anyone. By the way is your Healey the black one I saw on a trailer on I-95 several weeks ago. Skip

Hey,Skip
Haven't had my car on I-95 lately and between primer and rust patches, it has the recollection of a red color.
