Newbie from Alaska - TR6 in sight

Hi All - i am closing in on buying a TR6 and wanted to get any input on what to look out for. Seen some of the posts on this topic. Had one specific question on checking the end-play on crank-thrust washer issue. what tool do i need to get a reasonable measurement before I buy; if it is loose-out-of-spec (,oo4-.008 sound about right?) is there any way to determine the extent of damage done without pulling the pan? ...seems it would be hard to determine if the block is damaged vs stories of the washer just falling in the pan; unless there is grinding which confirms the worse case....grinding would be a walk away?...thxs kenai

Hi There kenai,

Welcome. If you have`nt introduced yourself to the folks on the "Triumph Forum"; by all means do & fire away with your questions. Probably one of the biggest responses you`ll get will be look for "RUST".

Best Wishes,

Russ
