Newbie Canuck with '65 Sprite

Hello All,
About a year ago my son started making noises about restoring a vintage muscle car as a father/son project. As the price of gas
seemed to be going out of sight I suggested looking out for something smaller and more fun to drive (and hopefully fewer speeding tickets). So here we are with '65 Sprite on its back with new floors and patches welded in waiting for spring and bondo weather.
The great thing about these British sports cars appears to be the amount of info available on restoring them, the availability of spare parts and of course the support of the
community of like minded eccentrics ( such as this BBS). I also have a 1949 Fargo ( Dodge)1-ton that's been put on hold because the Spridget is just so much more fun.
cheers,
Bob

Welcome, Bob! You're going to like it here. The Sprite is a very popular car, and I don't think there's a member on the board who doesn't like 'em! Some may not be able to fit in them, but that's different.

Howdy Bob & Your Son,

"Welcome" to the wonderful world of "LBCs" (Little British Cars) from NE PA USA.

Its always "Great" to hear the next generation showing interest in the car hobby; Whether it be Muscle Cars, Mods or LBCs.

As you already found out; Working on these LBCs is fun and simple (For the better part) & parts are quite accessible.

Introduce Yourself, Your Son & Your Spridget to the "Spridget Forum Folks". Their all there to listen, assist in any way possible.

Most of all; "HAVE FUN HERE AND WITH YOUR "NEW/OLD" TOY.

Regards, Russ

Welcome Bob, I'm in Saskatoon!

Is it snowing and -15 there too? darn, nice end of March.

Post some pics of your projects! I'd like to see what you're up to. I've created a build thread for my Daimler.

Hi, Bob, and welcome to the Forum to you and your son!

Larry

Bob and Son,
Welcome to the best forum on the 'net. You will find many like-minded (although maybe a bit off kilter) people to share your passions. Be sure to post many photos as this group loves to see photos. And in a spare moment, drop into the Pub and share a pint and a quip with the irregulars there.

Enjoy the Ride.

Hi Bob

Welcome to the forum.
I'm in sunny(?) Ontario. Hope your winter has been more pleasant then ours.
There is a fellow named Sherlock on this forum who is also from Calgary,
An excellent photographer. Spread the word around your city, so he can make enough money to buy one of these little cars.
You will definitely enjoy the car, and the friendship on the forum.

Dave :savewave:

Thanks to all for the warm welcome!
When I referred to the "eccentric community" of British Car Fanatics I suppose I
must now include myself since I find in less than a year I am watching eBay for spares, keep a copy of Haynes on my bedside table, and yesterday tried to boil out a stuck SU jet in my wife's good saucepan while she watched TV.
As for the winter in Calgary, it just seems to go on and on this year. Maybe I'm
just getting older but my frozen blue posterior would much rather be sitting in a
small sportscar than shovelling snow banks twice as high as the car.
