Just wanted to say HI - new member and starting my first British project. Restoring my father in laws 62 Mk 2 sprite. He bought it new so its an heirloom kinda. I understand it was originally pink (Mother in law drove it of course) I am located in So California.

RM...>WELCOME....also have a 62 setting in the garage....the DEEP PINK supposedly was somewhat of a rarity....makes it kind of tough regarding that decision restoring her to the original color.. huh?

look forward to your posts......

Yes it does. He originally bought 2 at the same time, His/Hers Blue & Pink. He eventually sold the blue one, kept the pink and repainted it. I tend to TRY and stick to original but this ones a tough call. I've got a long way to go befor that decision. Still beating my head against the wall looking for a 1275 motor...

Hi There RM from the Pocono Mtns of PA: (The new future gambling area in the east)!

Best Wishes in your restoration: ("PINK")!?! Boy, I just don`t know about that unless you plan on building it for a Female driver?

Welcome RM!

Pink with some black decals or stripes might be OK. It was a pretty popular combo on Chrysler products in the 50s (and maybe 60s). More of a Carribean Island "look" than a Girly "look".

I looked for quite a while for a 1275 for mine (it's a 1500 and I'm backdating it to run more vintage races). I eventually found a great deal on one just 5 miles from my house (using craigslist). Be patient....you'll find one.

And G'luck with that colour decision.
