Hello my name is Scott and I am a Triumphaholic.

It all started when I was 17 and bought a used Spitfire 1500.

My father commented that Triumphs had two seats so you could take your mechanic with you, easier to get back home that way.

I grew older, got married, sold the spit, thought I was cured. Everytime I saw an LBC, I would get an urge to get another Triumph.

FFW 10 years and I finally gave in and bought a 70 Spit Mk3, spent the next 7 years driving it in the summer and refurbishing in the winter. In the intervening period I picked up a 69 Spit Mk3, stored it in a barn for 5 years occasionally robbing parts from it.

This September I brought the 69 home with the intention of restoring it. No problem, two car garage, 69 on one side 70 on the other, what could go wrong? It was my intention to worry about my wife parking in the garage once the snow arrived.

Best laid plans... within two weeks of bringing the 69 home, I find a 74 TR6 I simply must have.

Of course I bought the TR6, 69 Spit on one side of my garage TR6 on the other and the 70 Spit in my Mother's garage.

I finally have to admit I have an addiction and have come here for help.

Whadda you mean thats like going to the "Crack House" for rehab???

Welcome to the party, Scott! You'll soon discover you're not alone with your problem; lots of us with similar issues!

Welcome, the first step is to admit you have a problem and you have done that. Now you just have to learn to live with it. I think everyone on this forum has learned to live there life with this sickness. It can be done. There is no cure. Did you catch that, there is no cure, this is a life long sickness. All you can do is try and find others who have it worse then you, and let me tell you there are many who have it worse.

I met a guy this weekend who had a 2 stall garage with 4 spitfires in it. 3 in one stall and 1 in the other. Boy, does he have it bad. For me I only have 3 so I must not be as sick. (Yet)

Welcome. You have made the first step to learning to live with it.

Time to add on! You need to have a barn raisin an create room for even more.

Welcome to the Forum. This is the best support group for our shared affliction.

Hi Scott,

Welcome....you will be glad to know that you have alot of kindred spirits here who can totally understand your "sickness".

I myself have managed to fit a 73 6 and 2 60 TR3A's in my two car garage.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Looks like you'll blend in nicely here. We all have the same problem.

Welcome to the forum.........

YAY!! There's safety in numbers, Scott!!! Welcome!

I'm not a Triumph ~owner~ but hideously afflicted none-the-less. Plenty of TRactor repairs in my past, likely more in my future.

Again: WELCOME aboard!

By the way , the first responder was our favorite man of the cloth who we regularly confess our TR sins to.

Welcome Scott!

You've come to the wrong place to be reformed but the right place to join in with others who have learned to live with this wonderful disease.

And Spitfire MkIII's are nice cars (my wife's Triumph was a 1968).
