I'm posting this question for my nephew who is restoring an MGB. He installed new outside door window seals and they won't let the window roll back down. They grab the window. Is the a trick to intalling them? Hit them with a heat gun to harden them? Your advise will be greatly appreciated.

Mine are doing the same thing, but only on the driver's side - I'll be interested to hear from the group.

Maybe try hitting them with some glass cleaner as a lubricant while trying the window will help? I've never had this problem, but it seems to me it would be worth a try.
I love side curtains!!!!!

I've never heard of that? Maybe wipe them with alcohol to clean them. Maybe some preservative on the rubber. Where did you buy them?

Assuming he has them seated all the way:

Jaguar has on ongoing problem like that. Spray a little silicon in the tracks and see if that helps.'

If not, he is going to have to adjust the channels. There are a couple of bolts to loosen to move them.

He may have had all the frame and window crank assembly and vent window frame out if he is replacing all the gaskits etc. I didn't have that problem but had to adjust the vent window frame as it was at the wrong angle compared to the windshield after reassembly. All of these components are adjustable so maybe he has the window too close to that rubber piece.

He bought all his new parts from Victoria British. He did use the window cleaner and that helps until it drys. I'll have him work on adjusting the window channels. Thanks!!

When I installed new outside window seals on my GT several years ago they would fold down when the window was rolled down. I fixed this by setting the car out in the sun for a couple days and I put paper between the new seal and glass and rolled the window up and down. After a day or so in the sun the new seals formed into their new shape and have worked fine ever since.

Thanks, Mark!

If the sun ever comes out again, I'll try that!
