Hi everyone, this looks like a great site. I’m fairly new to the British Car World. I inherited a 1975 Tr6 from my uncle 2 years ago. The car sat in his garage in Louisiana for as long as I can remember (at least 20 years). Whenever I would visit him I would always make him take the cover off the car so I could sit in it and admire it. I didn’t know anything about Triumphs other than the fact they looked awesome. When he passed away my Aunt new how much I liked the car so she let me have it. I towed it to California and let it sit in my garage for a while not knowing where to start. After a lot of reading and asking questions on other websites (I wish I knew about this one!) I finally began the slow brutal process of replacing everything that had gone bad after 20+ years of sitting idle. I just got the car running last month and it is a blast to drive! I look forward talking with you all and using the resources this site has to offer.

You certainly are a very fortunate individual. The TR looks great in the pic and does`nt seem like it needs a heck of a lot of work.

Introduce yourself & your car to the "Triumph" forum and meet a ton of people who would like to see & hear your tale of what you`ve done to make her roadworthy after 20yrs of sleeping.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. It actually didn't take much to get the car started. Getting it to run safely has been the hard part. I completely redid the whole fuel system. The car was stored for 20+ years with a full tank of gas. The brake system has been redone, the carbs had to be rebuilt, and a lot of electrical work was needed to get the lights running proper. Needless to say it's been a blast and well worth the time and money. Here are a few more pictures. I am currently working on the interior.

Doug, I'll be there for sure, but I'm not sure if I am going to take my Tr6. I would love to but I am a bit leary about driving that far. I'm still working out some of the kinks with this car. I took it for a spin today and it almost over heated.... First time its done that and it was only about 70 degrees.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum - looks like you've discovered the advantage of dynamat!
 
This is the 3rd car I have Dynamated. The before and after "feeling" of the car is incredible. I went a little Dynamat crazy with this car, I figured while I had all the carpet out I might as well. In the end I added 25 pounds of Dynamat! The car feels great.
