Not about British cars but, I just bought one like this for the horse farm, (in place of the XKE I had lined up)! Yeah I know, I know, it had to be done. It has a 804 British Perkins diesel in it. Even has a backhoe attachment. I know Perkins engines and their quality, that's why I bought it. The loader and backhoe are American made, the engine British and the under carriage a Chinese copy of the Massey Harris. The cab is Chinese with full AC and heat. Very well made, heavy duty tractor with 16 speeds forward and 8 reverse and power everything.

How thick is the Operator's Manual for that beastie?!?! :jester:

It actually has three Doc, plus parts books etc.

All that just to move some dirt around! :jester:

4x4? looks like it. I learned to drive tractors on an all manual old Deere. Learned to never put your hand in the steering wheel! That looks allot nicer than any tractor I ever drove. Enjoy it.

Paul...nice un...where did they put the

Never thought of that. Cool! To give a perspective on it's size, it weighs just under 5 ton. I would have liked to have had the Jag I had lined up better, but being in a democratic household, I was out voted. Bummer!

I coulda USED that yesterday. Went to help a friend remove 250' of cattle fencing, yet to reinstall. All by manual labor and sweat. GAH! Poison ivy and Brazilian pepper trees.

But think about it Doc, with all that exercising, you don't have to go out jogging today.

THAT'S what the guy who snooker'd me into this odyssey has been sayin'.

...I ain't buyin' it. And I've concluded them Conquistadores were NUTS. Chasin' rumors of gold and rejuvinating fountains thru this scrub would NOT be real high on my list of acceptable adventures.

'gators an' wild hogs are highly unforgiving of tresspass.

Yea but moving that hay around and spreading horse manure plays HECK on a Jag....that's why I keep the old International H much cheaper and I can keep spending
my spare change on perts and gizmos for the Brits...

I have two other tractors, both are antiques. A 1944 Farmall "A", WW2 limited production, which was my dads, it's only for show and a 1955 Ford 600. The Ford I used on occasion until last month when the rear crank seal went and it dumps oil out a quart at a time. Engine needs total rebuild. (Later)! So, this was a necessity. It was 25% less than a Ford (New Holland), 1/3rd less than a Massey and half the cost of a JD. The Jag, it was a coupe and in real nice shape. Oh well, it was a nice thought. Maybe later?
