Hey all, it has taken 20 years but I finally managed to get my 57 TR3 that I've always wanted.

Draw back is that this is a 100% frame up restoration which I don't mind but I never realized how many nuances these cars have between years and even between serial numbers.

Some will be disappointed but I have after a great deal of thought to have this as a rest-mod not a Concours or purist restoration. I want to keep the spirit but am going to bring in some of the modern safety and reliability features to make this a daily driver.

Great to have you! You will find we have a pretty active Triumph group here so be sure to pop in at the Triumph forum here and say hello there also. As for your restoration, not everyone is going to retire a car to concourse condition. In my on-going restoration of my Jag I have departed from when would be considered concourse also. I replaced all the brake lines with stainless, I powder coated the rear suspension cage, just to name a couple of departures, but overall the car will look original to anyone but a concourse judge.
