Hello List,

My name is Bruce Molin and I have just subscribed ... G'day all!

I've lived in the sea-side town of Old Bar on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia, since being medically retired from a position as a Sydney based writer/researcher some 15 years ago.

I have been a member of the Great Lakes Historic Automobile Club for almost 10 years and write for it's newsletter and have a general interest in "classic" cars, especially British vehicles.

My first car was a 1963 Mark 10 Jaguar, a vehicle I wish I still had, however, I hope to "get back to where I started," with a Jaguar in the near future. If not, there are many other interesting British vehicles worthy of care & attention!

I'm sure I'll learn much through being on this list.

regards,
bruce

Hi Bruce,

Welcome to BCF from a fellow writer/researcher.

I love British cars and almost any other import car, my specialty is saloon cars (or any other of the non-sports car models - not very sporting of me is it

)

Are you published yet? - other than your newsletter.

I have some articles posted in Writer's Corner here on the Forum, as well I have written now for the past three years for the club I belong to (in my signature down below). Also I recently launched my biggest project yet - a registry for Vauxhalls & Bedfords in North America, https://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/northamericanvauxhalls

Anyway, once again... welcome aboard...

Hi Bruce and welcome! Always glad to have another Jag enthusiast onboard! Be sure to play our Virtual Rally game!

Cheers
Basil

PS: One small correction - this is a forum, not a list. (You won't get your inbox flooded with emails)

Thankyou for your warm welcome!

To Sherlock, your comment, "I love British cars and almost any other import car, my specialty is saloon cars (or any other of the non-sports car models - not very sporting of me is it )," gels with me, as I feel as you do, that "classic's" come in all shapes and sizes.

As of course do people, as my not inconsiderable waist-line testifies , some of us are built for comfort, not speed. So for some of us there is no need to be "sporting" is there?

I also strongly agree with your thoughts on "saving the unloved cars that time forgot... Austin, Hillman, Vauxhall, Wolseley, etc."

I would also like to add one of my favourite "unloved" cars, the Humber Super Snipe, both Mark & Series models, which seems to unjustly suffer from neglect and are not immediately put into the "classic" status they so much deserve...but on the upside, that makes them much more affordable for retired folk, doesn't it?

In addition, to aeronca65t, I would thankyou for your welcome, and to both of you if I can produce copy that is worthy, I look forward to contributing to "Writer's Corner" in the future.

Regards,
bruce

Then this will make you drool then... One of the fellow club members here in Ontario has an old 1952/53 Humber Pullman limousine he is planning to restore, bought it an auction in Toronto a couple of years back, never seen it but I'm told it needs a fair amount of work...

And there is a early Series-type Humber Hawk near where I live, but no saviour for it unfortunately.

Sherlock,

You are right about, "Then this will make you drool then... One of the fellow club members here in Ontario has an old 1952/53 Humber Pullman limousine..."

Drooling Downunder,
bruce

p.s. Basil...I'm beginning to now understand the difference between a "Forum" compared to a list, and it's much more comprehensive, informative & fun too!
