73MGBRebuild

Hey,

I'm finally back to the MGB forums and ready to rebuild my 73 MGB. Thought I'd throw a pic up of the rebuild car.

I am planning to put a V6 into this rebuild as its a gift for my wife as a daily driver. Wish me luck, I'll need it.

For starters the garage is too clean, gota do something about that.

Looks like a good starter car for a project...what's the rust situation on it?

Yep, need lots of boxes of parts stacked up behind it! good platform for start, rust-wise?

Too Clean ? I know. I just finished my Lexus project, so I did a thorough cleaning.

The rust situation isn't all that good, it needs new rockers and floor pans for starters, who knows what else. I am going to strip it down and replace whats needed followed by a nice sand blasting experiment. Should be fun.

Lessee... "...a nice sand blasting experiment. Should be fun."

YUP! You're gonna fit *right in* around here. Welcome.

I think you mean the moderately priced Lexus with the outrageously priced mods. I've attached an older pic (edit: new pic, not a great pic) as it has been raining all week. Major mods include: Twin Turbo mounted on a 4.0L V8, tein coilovers, 18inch rims, borla exhaust, in-dash 6.5 inch Kenwood DVD with nav, Kenwood music keg (80Gig), reverse cam mounted in trunk keyhole, tint, 2800 stall torque converter, 3.76 LSD from a Toyota Supra, etc.

Car is getting painted this month and I have an unlimited supply of speeding tickets in the glove box, thus the move to a less powered MG project.

Did I say I am broke. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

And you're under the impression an MG is gonna be LESS a "TicketMagnet" than the Lexus?!?!

Ohmigawd.... grab this lad a stool.... we GOTTA hear this.

85 mph in a B is going to feel a bit different than in the Lexus.

In my experience, terrifying & exciting can be used interchangeably to describe the experience of driving a small Brit. car at interstate speeds.

Nah, not less of a ticket magnet, just I can drive the Lexus tomorrow morning at 120mph, whereas the MG shouldn't hit 5mph for at least 2 years.

<*snicker*> oh.
