Hi, Steve -

I see we're not too far from each other. Check out the Nashville British Car Club - several activities coming up.

Let me know if you're ever in Clarksville - always up for a cup of coffee!

Hello Steve,

"Welcome" to the "BCF".

We have a very active "Triumph Motor Heads" here.

Introduce yourself to the "Triumph Forum" and begin to chat away.

Best Wishes,

Hi, Steve, and welcome to the Forum. It's a great place, and as you say, very active.

Welcome to the party! I have gotten a great deal of help and information from the people on this forum. You will enjoy!

Hello All,
I have been a lurker on this site for some time and have picked up a ton of good info. I have a 1978 Midget that has been sitting idle for the better part of the last year. I started working on her today, got her up and running and decided to removed the rubber bumpers. I like the look of it, but as you all know, the turn indicators don't fit. Any ideas on what model year indicators I need to be looking for to install on it?
I expect to be on here quite a lot since the weather is finally nice enough (meaning cool) to work on the car. I have very little mechanical experience, and you guys all sound like pros!!

Woody and Fred:

Welcome to you both!

Fred: There is no ready-to-go lights that will fit the fender holes in your '78 after you remove the rubber bumpers......you will have to create something (maybe using trailer lights or similar). It's not that hard.

Or install older Sprite/Midget fenders with the proper holes for MG parking lights.

You may get some ideas from ~My Page~ on this subject.

Thanks for the welcome.
I was afraid that there would be no easy solution to the turn indicator problem, but I'm sure I can come up with something suitable.
Thanks also for the advice, both now and in the past!!

Welcome Guys

I have grafted\welded the fitting from earlier ones on.

My suggestion is to keep your eyes and mind open. Be receptive to solutions from anywhere. You may find a light that will fit perfectly that is actually meant for a farm tractor, or a boat trailer, a Harley, etc. And don't restrict yourself to applications, either. Perhaps a light that is meant to be a back-up light or rear turn signal on something else will fit on the front of your car. Sometimes the perfect answer comes from the most unlikely of places!
